Use in fixing a car spoiler

Hi Everyone,

The top half of my car spoiler was ripped off in a minor accident with a garage door.  It fits snugly on the bottom half when placed back on the car but the plastic clips holding it in place are broken.  A former mechanic friend suggested Gorilla Glue for sealing the top back to the bottom half of the spoiler.

I'm concerned that the spoiler top half could fly off at high speeds.  I do not want to hurt anyone or cause any accidents.  My questions are:

1. Do you think there is a Gorilla product that will be sufficient to hold the top half of the spoiler on while driving at highway speeds?  The product would be used on an internal surface connecting the two spoiler pieces.  It would not be exposed to rain.

2. If so, which product is likely to work best?  The surfaces are plastic, as far as I can tell.  Unpainted on the inside where I would be applying the product.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Use in fixing a car spoiler

Gorilla Glue will work on most plastics such as ABS and PVC as long as the surfaces are scratched up first with some sandpaper where the glue will be.  Then follow the standard directions and "Damp It", "Glue It" and "Clamp It".  Gorilla Glue will not work on polyethylene and polypropylene plastics.  I would recommend checking at an auto retail store for an appropriate product for your specific repair.

I hope this helps.
