Building our own workbench

My husband is looking to build his own workbench with storage as part of his annual spring project. Does anyone have any pictures or recommendations that worked well for them?

Re: Building our own workbench

How handy is your husband, and does he know this will be his annual spring project?

Re: Building our own workbench

Make sure the wood you use has been heavly wood treated.  After it dries you can than put it together with the Gorilla glue.  You may even want to also use weather proof screws to hold it together.  When this is finished you may want to paint it.

You could buy the book (The Workbench Book). It is published by Fine Woodworking. Its hard back and costs $24.95 You can design a workbench for the type of work that you do. It is well written and illustrated. I bought mine through Rockler or Woodcraft many years ago. Or you could shearch through "Shop Notes" to find what you are looking for. "Woodworknman46"

Re: Building our own workbench

Here's one that I came across a while back:  www.rd.com/familyhandyman/articles/200212/fixit/main.html

It's got lots of great features and seems highly adaptable.
