Question - fixing pool filter
Modified By rfrice4 on 8/12/2009 10:36:29 PM)

I have a 2 foot ong lateral crack in Hayward DE 6000 pool filter.   Has anyone tried using Gorilla tape.   Will tape hold up under pressure and high water flow that can push tape loose from top or bottom?  Tape must also hold when filter expands under pressure.     I have already tried RTV blue and 2 part liquid epoxy.   Material holds tight until I turn pump on and tremendous water flow seaps under glues.

Re: Question - fixing pool filter

Great question. While Gorilla Tape is a very strong duct tape, it is not ideal for permanent repairs underwater. In this case, I would talk to the manufacturer of the filter to see what they may suggest.

Good luck! Mary Ellen
