Building a 45inch Star Boat

I'm considering using Gorilla Super Glue in building a 45 inch radio controlled sailing model. I read that it is is impact resistant, but is is waterproof?

There are many photgraphs on http://daveifm.wordpress.com/ detailing the project.

I really don't want to have to cover the model with fiberglass to keep the seams from softening or failing.

Waterproof being light years better than water-resistant.

How agressive is the super glue with reagard to foaming?

If it gets on the wood will it create a problem when the wood is stained?

Re: Building a 45inch Star Boat

Dave-

While Gorilla Super Glue can withstand some water, it's not waterproof and shouldn't be fully submerged for extended periods of time.  You might try Gorilla Glue for your project, it will foam (unlike Gorilla Super Glue) but if you apply a small amount, foaming will be minimal.  Gorilla Glue is waterproof and extremely tough so you'll be able to put the sail boat through rigorous use with no glue failures. Plus, you can sand, stain and paint the bond line.  For this project, I would strongly recommend Gorilla Glue!
