Bracing application

I have a tight area to intall a 2x4 cross brace in.  I cannot get sufficient angle to nail a positioning block, which in turn would nail into.

Will a block glued with any of the glues hold fast in shear, when I nailgun into it?  (This is to hold facia, not a structural application.)

Re: Bracing application

If the blocks you are using are bare wood to bare wood, not painted, I would recommend using Gorilla Epoxy.  If one surface is painted, you will need to sand it first.  The epoxy will still need to be clamped but handling time is 90 minutes.
