Type I rating means the bond is waterproof.
Type II rating means the bond is water resistant.

What does solvent-resistance mean?
Solvent resistant means that, once cured, Gorilla Wood Glue's strength and consistency is not compromised by exposure to solvents, such as paint thinners.

Can heat be used to break the glue bond?
Heat can not be used to break the glue bond, as Gorilla Wood Glue is very heat resistant. Once cured, it is safe to heat up to 150ºF.

Will Gorilla Wood Glue adhere to stained or painted items?
Gorilla Wood Glue will work on stained surfaces. However, if the surface has been painted or sealed with a sealer, urethane, varnish or shellac, Gorilla Wood Glue will not adhere to it.

Original Gorilla Glue foams as it cures. Does Gorilla Wood Glue foam?
Gorilla Wood Glue is a water-based Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) and will not foam as it dries.
Original Gorilla Glue, however, does expand 3-4 times the amount that you apply.

Can I change the viscosity of Gorilla Wood Glue?
Gorilla Wood Glue, unlike original Gorilla Glue, is a water-based adhesive. You can thin Gorilla Wood Glue by adding water, not to exceed 5% weight.

Can Gorilla Wood Glue be applied with a syringe?
Yes. The viscosity of Gorilla Wood Glue will allow it to be injected using a glue syringe applicator.
Please note that this answer is regarding Gorilla Wood Glue, which is a water-based PVA. We do not recommend using Gorilla Glue in a syringe application, as it has a higher viscosity.

Can Gorilla Wood Glue be used in spraying applications?
Yes, but depending on the spraying equipment, the viscosity of Gorilla Wood Glue may need to be lowered with water. (Not to exceed 5% by weight)

Can Gorilla Wood Glue be used in steam bending wood and laminating?
Yes. The substrates need to be steam bent and dried first to prevent creep, stepped and sunken joints.

Can I disassemble a glue joint?
Once cured, it is virtually impossible to disassemble a Gorilla Wood Glue joint without damaging the surfaces.

How can I prevent stepped joints?
The best solution for stepped joints is to make sure the wood pieces being joined are of the same moisture content. After gluing, wait for moisture around the joint to evaporate before planing or sanding.
The length of time to wait depends on air circulations, temperature, relative humidity around the panel, amount of water added by the glue and wood species. Generally, 7 days is sufficient.

How can I prevent creep?
The best solution to minimize creep is to make sure the wood species being joined are the same species and moisture content to start. When gluing, orient the grain in the same direction.

Is there anyway to remove Gorilla Wood Glue from carpet and/or fabric?
Once dried, it is very difficult to remove Gorilla Wood Glue. If the glue is still wet, adhesive can be removed with water.
